Falling Down on the Job

Yup. I've been neglecting my blog. Mea culpa.

I've been keeping myself (too) busy lately, mostly with volunteer projects.

Just this spring, I have worked on:

Soloprenerds

Helping Bethany Mooradian, solo-entrepreneur extraordinaire, build a community website (still in development) full of useful resources for micro-enterprises.

Center for Wooden Boats

Conducting an afternoon class for other CWB volunteers to qualify them for crew duties aboard the sharpie Colleen Wagner when she is used for Cast OFF! Free Public Sail cruises.

Emergency Services Coordinating Agency (Amateur Radio)

With my local RACES group, preparing for the next disaster. I've participated in a half-day drill plus joined the many volunteers to support the Oso Mudslide remembrance ceremony. Then there are regular group meetings and training. It's easy to sucked in farther than intended.

City Council Meetings

Participating in discussions; I live a mere eight-minute walk from City Hall. In my family, it's a sin to not vote. With City Hall so close, it's a sin not to show up occasionally. And Brier is facing tough challenges, as are most local governments.

Sabbatical Summer

I'm starting to feel burnt out at work, so I've scheduled an extended vacation, my Sabbatical Summer. Between July 2 and September 14, 2015, I will
And Second Wind is NOT ready for the coming sailing season, yet. Deadline: My brother is coming up from California to join me on a shakedown cruise over Memorial Day weekend.

Whew!

You'd think I should just settle down and rest, but I find that, if I don't keep busy, I just watch videos and eat Bon-Bons. That's not good. I've got better things to do.

But I really need to rekindle the discipline of writing regularly, both in my blogs, and in my private journal.

Whip me with a wet noodle. And wish me luck on my adventures.
