Well, this is embarrassing!

I haven't published a blog post since July, and here it is October. Wow! Three months! It's like I took Q3 off or something.

OK, I took Q3 off. I've been trying to figure out what my message is, what my purpose is, and what the hell I'm trying to do with this blog and this side gig.

No, I don't have the answers, yet.

But that's no excuse to not write and speak and listen. I must engage with others to find some answers, to find what resonates with my audience and with my soul.

So here I am, pouring stream of conscious into a blog post, not knowing where this is going. And, you know what? That's OK!

So, tell you what. I'm going to go pour myself another cup of coffee. When I get back, we can have a chat about what lies ahead today.

I'll be right back.

OK, I'm back with a warm cup of French Roast coffee.

I get my K-cups, err, coffee pods, from San Francisco Bay Coffee Company. I haven't found anyone else who makes a good, robust dark roast. I used to like Peet's Coffee for French Roast, but they changed something and now their roast is two mild. (Yes, I provide that link to get you to buy what I like, affirm my choice in coffee, and give me a commission through Amazon Associates. I don't get much, but I keep doing it.)

Now, where were we?

Ah, yes. What lies ahead today.

Well, I've already answered a message on LinkedIn. Matthieu Vandermersch is writing a new edition of a book about new management practices (I think) and wants to chat with me when I'm down in California later this month.

I'm a little anxious when writers approach me, but I kinda get a kick out of it. I makes me feel relevant.

Speaking of which, I was quoted in a recent article about Holacracy on Quartz that came out last Tuesday. I still haven't read the whole story. (It's rather long and I have a short attention span.)

After I publish this blog post, I'm going to read a bit of You Are a Badass, by Jen Sincero, and Finding Your Own North Star, by Martha Beck, then I'll get down to working on my book (working title: Hacking Holacracy).

I just came up with a new outline for my book, but I need to start writing to see if that outline will work for me.

Back to the day ahead.

I have a meeting with my manager, then I'll commute to downtown Seattle to help deliver a Co-Active Coaching Fundamentals workshop. That will last for the rest of today and all weekend. I expect to feel tired and well-used by Sunday evening.

I like empowering people, and cultivating new coaches will help to empower a lot of people.

So much to do. I'm really looking forward to a challenging day (and weekend).

I gotta run. Things to read. Books to write. People to coach. You know.

Remember:

  • Be helpful.

  • Be humble.

  • But be a humble badass.
